Atlas were proud to be Platinum Sponsors for the Sustainable Design & Architecture Conference, 29th-30th March, 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Supported by the British Council and UK Trade & Investment, the event was designed and produced by Atlas’ Sustainability Consultant and former Operations Director Matt Parkes. Key speakers included Angela Brady, (RIBA President), Bill Jones (RICS ASEAN Director), and Nguyen Tan Van (Vietnam Association of Architects President).

The conference brought together leading figures from the architectural, engineering, government, finance, construction and property sectors, and focused on Sustainable Policy Development, Professional Development and Capacity Building. In addition to sharing their knowledge on these three key areas, the delegates were also part of a workshop which produced suggested solutions to the immediate and long term challenges faced by those seeking to build a more sustainable environment for Vietnam.

Parkes noted 'It has been a very successful event, with some great input from everyone. This is just the beginning, and we hope we can build upon this to help make a real difference'.

The findings from the event will be published later in the year, and the organisers hope to schedule similar events in 2013. If you would like more information about the Sustainable Design & Architecture Conference, please contact London@atlasindsutries.com.
